Appearance: Slightly thick liquid
Color: Pale yellow
Aroma: Strong, fresh, bitter‐sweet, minty odor

Active constituents:

Mainly menthol, menthone, α‐pinene, p‐menthone, menthyl acetate, iso-menthone, thujone, phellandrene, piperitone, menthofuran, limonene, α‐terpineol, camphene, β‐caryophyllene, germacrene D.

Uses:

◊ Used in aromatherapy
◊ Employed in soaps, toothpastes, mouthwashes, detergents, cosmetics, perfumes and industrial fragrances.
◊ Used in food industry especially for flavoring confectionery, liquors and chewing gum.
◊ In the isolation of menthol crystals.
